The Husband and Wife Law Team sponsored and hosted “A crash course for motorcyclists”.  ASMI (Accident Scene Management Inc.) lead by a certified instructor was on site to help educate a group of riders on the basics of accident scene management.  Read more about the course below, and if you are interested in participating in the next class call us at 602-441-2826

ASMI was established in 1996, and since then many individuals and organizations have made great effort to make ASMI the leading international motorcycle trauma organization. ASMI is the only accredited program of its kind in North America.  The program is offered in almost every state with an ASMI certified instructor.

So why take this course? Imagine being on a ride with a few friends. You are outside town limits and a rider goes down. The cell phone coverage is not reliable and EMT is 20 minutes away. Do you know what to do to help prevent further injury until help arrives?

How to secure the scene? Handle the motorcycle? What if it is just the two if you? How will you move the injured? Should you move them? When and how to take a helmet off?

These questions and more are answered through this 8 hour course, with hands on demonstrations, interactive learning and a certificate of completion (including a patch). Upon completion, one may consider taking the advanced course.

This is the first time this course was offered at Breyer Law Offices and was a huge success thanks to Teresa McClelland MSN, RN, TNS (lead instructor) and Ben Martinez. Even experienced riders said they would recommend this course to a friend.

Attorney Mark Breyer of The Husband and Wife Law Team gave a brief presentation on legal matters involving an accident including uninsured and underinsured coverage and why it is important. Mark reviewed the laws that protect bystanders assisting victims until help arrives. Mark also educated the class on “The Helmet Lie”. You can learn more about The Helmet Lie by visiting ArizonaMotorcycleBook.com. This book is free to all residents in Arizona and reviews different meaningful laws.
