Want a fix of “the real old west?” May I suggest one or more of the following rides. These places offer and authentic step back in time to when the west was wild, life was hard and people were harder:

Cave Creek Museum in Cave Creek, AZ :http://cavecreekmuseum.org
Loop 101, exit Cave Creek Road and come north for approximately 12 miles. North of Carefree Hwy approximately 2 miles, you will see the Cave Creek Town Hall on your left, turn right at the next street, Skyline Drive. Follow the signs to the Museum. The road veers left and the Museum is on your left.

Desert Caballeros Museum in Wickenburg, AZ,: http://desertmuseum.org
US Hwy 60 west to the Wickenburg traffic circle. Stay left around the circle and take the right on to Wickenburg Way. At the trsffic light in town, make a right turn and the next left and left again. The museum is on the south east corner.

Sunrise Mine Enterprises (rock and mining museum) :facebook.competetheminer
US Hwy 60 to Wickenburg. At the traffic circle stay right. Conrtinue till the turn for US 89. Follow it up to the top of the hill. Pete The Miner’s is on the right. Small mining museum and fantastic “real life” stories. Great eats at the Roadhouse Restaurant Thursday – Sunday too – same parking lot.

Scottsdale Museum of The West: http:// scottsdalemuseumwest.org/
Just west of Scottsdale Rd. on east 1st Street to 3830 N. Marshall Way. Changing exhibits of paintings, sculpture, photography and other medium, offer a treasure trove of western legacy to be viewed. There are also many permanent displays.

Hope you enjoy one or more of these places just a day trip away.

Ride safe – Ride often – Have fun – Share your life with others.
