frank_zuccaroON THE SPOT

Hello again peeps, back again to put yet another person on the spot. However, this person is one that some might not recognise, but she is quite important to us in our community, as you will see. Her name is Lisa Cyr, and she is a vital person for bringing this little thing we like to call Arizona Bike Week. So lets get to this right away, Lisa Cyr, you are On the Spot!!

Q: Describe yourself in three words:
A: Practical – Ethical – Loyal.

Q: Three things you love:
A: My kids, My job, Bikers.

Q: Three things you hate:
A: Dishonesty, Pettiness, Sushi.

Q: Why the motorcycle world?
A: I found ABW through my career in the event industry. I have done thousands of events, for hundreds of different types of groups. I had always moved from one event to another, without developing any real attachment to the group I122_277_18b was doing the event for. I did my first Arizona Bike Week in 2000. I was working at WestWorld at the time and was running the bars for this event. It was at the end of a very long season of maybe 200 events or so and as exhausted as I was, I wasn’t looking forward to dealing with what I expected to be a difficult crowd. By the end of the weekend I was in love! I had never experienced such a collectively amazing group of people!! The generosity, kindness and fun loving nature of the bikers caught me completely by surprise. Since that first year, my involvement with the event continued to grow. In 2010 I was made an offer by Brad Bennett to be one of 3 managing partners of FX Promotions (the company that owns and produces Arizona Bike Week) along with himself and Todd Snedeker. Putting on an event of this magnitude is a daunting task but I never lose sight of how blessed I
am to be a part of our incredible motorcycle community.

Q: What is your greatest achievement?
A: My twin daughters.

Q: What is your biggest regret?
A: I believe in looking forward, not backwards.

122_277_18cQ: Who inspires you?
A: People who do the right thing.

Q: What was your first bike?
A: I’ve never owned one. Being a single mom and working the insane hours that I always have in order to provide for them, owning a bike hasn’t worked into my budget or schedule.

Q: What is your all-time favorite bike?
A: Each and every bike that rolls into Arizona Bike Week!

122_277_18aQ: What does the future hold?
A; Nothing but great things. Next year my daughters will be starting college and I look forward to having more free time to get out and about with all my crazy and fabulous biker friends.

Well there you go my friends, a wonderful woman working hard to make our community the best it can be. When at bike week, keep an eye out for her, and give her a warm biker hello and a thank you for all the hard work she is doing to make bike week one of the best rally’s in the USA!! Thank you Lisa, for taking the time for this interview and letting us know a little more about you!!
