Hello My Peeps, welcome back for another fun Interview, This issue we have the one and only Shelley Martin, and lord knows this woman needs no introduction. She is responsible for so much that happens in our community, but she is never too busy to say hello or even give you a hug hello. She can be found at Harley Davidson of Scottsdale and is the Sr. Event Coordinator, so lets get this party started….Shelley, you are On The Spot!!!
Describe yourself in three words:
Nonstop, Compassionate, Free-Spirited
Three things you love:
My family (includes extended family as well), my animals (Wild Kingdom), and riding my Harley..
Three things you hate:
Drama, dishonesty, people that abuse children and/or animals.
Why the motorcycle world?
My dad raised my sister and I on Harley’s. It’s in my blood 🙂
What is your greatest achievement?
This is hard to pin down one: Being the President of Bikers for Boobies and Peace Out, Prostate Cancer is a great achievement. Being the SR Event Coordinator at the largest H-D dealership in the world is a great achievement. All of the people and animals that I have made a difference for over the past 20 + years has also been a great achievement. Let’s not forget putting Dirty Dogg on the map for swinging from 2X4’s! Dirty Dogg is known around the world and it is the only one in the world – also impressive! Winning Mrs. Arizona Bike Week in 2012. Riding two Harley’s (one which was a suicide shift) onto the auction block at Barrett Jackson. Being on the TV Show Biker Battleground for my charity, Bikers for Boobies. Being chosen to be painted by the one and only, David Uhl! Again, I have many. 🙂
What is your biggest regret?
I’m going to take the high road on this one. I prefer to say “lessons learned”. One can either wallow in self pity or stay in the negatives but I choose to find the positive no matter how small and hang onto that. I am always moving forward.
Who inspires you?
Brendan Davies – he has so many medical issues but always remains positive and he’s only 6! Our brave Military, Phoenix Wounded Vets Run, Scootin America-Adam and Scooter, Jack and Diane Shit, The Gatekeepers, Melissa Hughes & Two Gals Event Planning, Both Board members on B4B & POPC. And all the people whether my family, friends or people I’ve just met that are fighting cancer & other critical illnesses! My family – I genuinely have the greatest, supportive family. I’m sure that there are so many more!!! I am surrounded with AMAZING people!!
What was your first bike?
My 2012 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe…my wife 🙂 I will always keep her.
What is your all-time favorite bike?
My 2012 Deluxe w/16 inch apes and fishtails! 🙂
What does the future hold?
God only knows but making a positive impact in our community. Spreading love, smiles, and great times with my family, friends and animals.
I thank you Shelley for letting us know a little bit more about yourself, I’m sure our readers will enjoy this very much. I know the community appreciates all the hard work you do, as well as many others…again, thank you so very much!!
